One issue with the last point here: I'd love to preserve an ability to deploy
test-artifacts as in the current incarnation. I've explained the reason
elsewhere, let me repeat it again: a particular state of the test code
comprises what we used to call "test stack". It reflects the state of the
software stack, defined in the BOM. Having an ability to build the stack and
test it with the readily available set of tests - not just scripts/source code,
but first class artifacts - seems like a huge value-add to me.
