duped msgs on github pull request?

Catching up on emails post conference day, seeing bunch of what seems to be
duped messages to mailing list per gitub transaction.., one to dev@, and one
to the jira, which then mails dev@.  If that's case can probably turn off
the github mailing and let jira do its thing?
