I made a comment [1] on BIGTOP-2080, which seems to be a wrong place as the JIRA
is closed already and was addressing a different issue. Here's the essence of
it:
    latest docker images, at least for Ubuntu/Debian, have grown in size about
    400MB. While on centos the increase is only ~60MB

Olaf made a point that just JDK8 on debian & ubuntu platforms is about 300MB.
Which explains one but doesn't explain another: the centos image is still
quite a bit smaller. While it make sense to keep the images as small as
possible, I think +- 400MB isn't a big deal for an image that only needs to be
downloaded once in a while. The discrepancy is sorta interesting.

While on the topic: we aren't ready to get rid of JDK7 yet, are we?
