Hi Evans,

I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. I’m not sure why,
but using the Jenkins repos, it looks like I’m having connectivity issues :

[root@testsrvr log]# yum list enabled
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: mirror.cogentco.com
 * epel: mirror.umd.edu
 * extras: mirror.cogentco.com
 * ius: mirror.symnds.com
 * updates:
mirror.umd.eduhttp://ci.bigtop.apache.org:8080/view/Releases/job/Bigtop-1.0.0-rpm/BUILD_ENVIRONMENTS=centos-6%2clabel=docker-slave-06/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/output/repodata/repomd.xml:
[Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 7 - "couldn't connect to host"
Trying other mirror.
Error: No matching Packages to list
[root@testsrvr log]#

I can’t even telnet to Jenkins :

[root@testsrvr yum.repos.d]# telnet ci.bigtop.apache.org 8080
Trying 54.165.61.61...

>From other environments, I don’t have a problem :

[root@attic yum.repos.d]# telnet ci.bigtop.apache.org 8080
Trying 54.165.61.61...
Connected to ci.bigtop.apache.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

So, I’m thinking perhaps there’s a firewall beyond my control. I’m going to
try downloading the repo on another machine and scp-ing it to the target
node. Luckily, I’m only trying to setup a single-node HDFS server today. In
terms of using the repo locally, is this the link I should use ?

Thanks again,
Brian
