Hi Peng, <My 2 Cents> IIUC there wasn’t any functional Ambari community in place any more, so the project went into attic.
As an Apache Software Project we are asked to look into software security and maintaibility. We cannot use discontinued / obsolete technology for building infrastructure, since users expect us to be able to react to security challenges. Bigtop does included a lot of 3rd party software, but each of them was only chosen when the bigtop community was convinced the project will be maintained in future and the license is compatible to the Apache Software License Version 2. Usually we packaged Apache Projects. Patches within Bigtop had been submitted upstream. If these projects cease to exist or are stalled, Apache Bigtop has to remove the dependency sooner or later. Ambari is not the first and really not the only component which we have to consider removing. (Other candidates are the leftovers of the ODPI Initiative, for example ) It is possible to revive Apache Ambari from the Attic and change the project goals in almost any direction, The process for leaving the Attic is outlined here : https://attic.apache.org <https://attic.apache.org/> </My 2 cents> Best, Olaf > Am 07.04.2022 um 10:39 schrieb 李帅 <[email protected]>: > > Hi Michiel, > It will be a web project originated from ambari earlier branch.
