love to go through the lists and simply clean them from dead links. That
would improve it by a good deal.
If bodies are what are needed for day one, then I can volunteer some
time. A couple of hours a week to go through the list for North
America, Assuming a first pass of looking for nothing more then dead
addresses would go fairly quickly. This shouldn't even need waiting on
any discussion about 'what is a valid listing', a dead link isn't
valid - no questions asked IMO.
So unless someone tells me I am waisting my time, I'll start this week
and post the results of the first ( dead wood ) pass to this list as I
go.

OK - let me rephrase that last message slightly - I would be happy to go
through whatever list there isn't someone already wanting to work on.
North America may have plenty of takers - I can look for non existent
page links in any language I suppose. So if there is a better region to
begin with I am open for direction.
