+1 binding

Downloaded, checked keys, checked L+N, built under JDK 1.7 and 1.8 on Ubuntu 
Linux, ran tests, built javadoc.

In my opinion, it would be nice if there were a README file saying “you have 
downloaded avatica version 1.8; the release notes are in file xxx”. But by no 
means a show-stopper.
