I also realized that the release guide describes the minor release branching process for SVN, not Git. I assume I will need to perform the following: - Create a new branch-2.17.x branch off of the current master - Switch to the newly created branch and follow the build processes as usual - Switch to the master branch and update the version to 2.18-SNAPSHOT (using mvn versions:set ...) It would be great to get some feedback on this before I start building the release.
