+1 from me too.

For next Castor release I would leave an easy way back by not committing code that requires Java 5. As far as I remember last time we tried to increase  Java version, the users complained about that after we made a release available. The announcement on user list did not cause reactions.

This way we can change to use Java 5 code some time after next release if there is only a small number of complaints. If there are much, we can ask about the modules that they use and decide if we revert them to Java 1.4.

Having said that I expect that most users appreciate this step.

Just my 0.02 cent

+1. Actually, I think we should raise Java code lveel to 5 in general.

Hello,

Werner and I shortly discussed to raise source level of the Core module
to Java 5, to gain benefit of easier Nature usage and simpler design, as I'm working on
CASTOR-2437 (Add convenience code to deal with (repeated) nature additions and checks).

Hence, other modules will also be raised due to dependency on the Core module and the .project file.

What do you think?

Regards,
Lukas
