I too am willing to give the project more time, but I think this will be one more chance and will be for a limited, specified amount of time. If we don't see progress in that time (I'd propose maybe three months?) then we have to retire it.
I'd like to address some specific issues and make sure the community understands what is needed to resolve them. I'll start a separate thread to that end.
