That makes sense. Any idea why no one (that I know of) has implemented patch (as opposed to xpatch) as an Ant task? I looked around and couldn't find an implementation.
Actually there is one that we almost switched to some months back but it's not part of ant (at least wasn't as of 1.5). While it'd be nice to reuse others work, this is one simple class that we've been able to customize to our unusual needs so there was no real perceived benefit. Now if 1.6 has something that will do the trick, that'd be worth looking at.
That said, I think we'll find the need for xpatch diminishing greatly after real blocks and some of the other 2.2 improvements in the works.
