This sounds interesting. However, isn't 2.2 dumping excalibur in favor of fortress? (Just my impression from some of the emails here). Does fortress have something similar?
Confusing project names. 2.2 uses Fortress to replace Excalibur Component Manager (ECM). However, Excalibur has a number of other sub-projects which are still in use and officially supported by the greater Avalon community (which ECM is not or will not be).
