Confusing project names. 2.2 uses Fortress to replace Excalibur Component Manager (ECM). However, Excalibur has a number of other sub-projects which are still in use and officially supported by the greater Avalon community (which ECM is not or will not be).
Not to imply that the instrumentation is unrelated to ECM - it might be.
