the connection and the stack trace are not normal.
It might be xerces trying to dereference the DTD from its public location. There is a new version of xerces out, maybe worth trying with the latest one.
We already have the latest Xerces version 2.6.1 in CVS. The old bug with the entity catalogues is fixed, otherwise the error would already happen during the build.
