http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31760 Handle / Semaphore Leak? ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-10-22 07:49 ------- Please let me clarify what I mean: In any case Cocoon needs to consume a lot of handles. If you do Cocoon going to work by surfing on it, it will increase the heandlesize. 10000 are OK when they a really nedded. There is no other way. But my intension for this Bug report is the increasing without a reason. If you start Tomcat/Cocoon, it will have an amount lower than 1000. When it is running - nothing more, the handle size will increase by about 50 every minute. Is there a limit and where is the limit? I tested an invoking of the GC with no decreasing and its still growing up. If there is a leak, it should be fixed. Regardless of critical or not. Lets try to figure out the reason. Think about a production environment that’s running months without restart. System handle are not unlimited. I don't know what will happen, but I think it will not be an improvement.
