With the current situation, that is a no. Evidently there are solutions on the way. Spurts of discussion happen on [EMAIL PROTECTED] (like right now).

If no, having a locally running application that does the actual commit could be a workaround and I think rather comfortable for committers.

Doc authors do their changes via a web application. Only the approval process is done via a local running application, that also is responsible for the commit. But as being said, let's see what will happen, when we have a working solution that "only" needs to find a secure home.
