Sounds awesome. I just hope enough reliable mentors volunteer with appropriately sized tasks - and an ability to provide feedback. This sounds like it results in lots of little, possibly disconnected newcomers, rather than a small handful of focused college students.
But I love the emphasis on non-coding tasks as well; that helps everyone.
