FWIW, the original vision of HelpWanted was pretty specifically not about code. It was about identifying non-code needs of projects, since there were already then, and are now, much better ways to discover “good first issue” type things to work on. That was never the goal of this tool. Despite (I thought) communicating this pretty clearly, all we got was project posting links to tickets. Furthermore, when people would respond that they were interested in working on one of these HelpWanted requests, they were almost always ignored. So, there were lots of failures to go around, and we eventually ended up abandoning it, years ago. — Rich Bowen rbo...@rcbowen.com
