I have backstepped a little here. This change allows existing plugins that
were dependent on the way DataContractJsonSerializer worked continue unaffected.
It also allow the optional overriding of the DataContractJsonSerializer to
use Json.net deserialization.
The only question is, since this un-breaks the api, does it mean we should
go back to a 3.9.0-dev as version number? I think so, but I would like input
from @nikhilkh and anyone else before proceeding.
