It'd be really cool to see a blog post that goes into your use case. I
hadn't thought of Couch as controlling a bunch of externals but it
makes perfect sense. The more we know about how you're using it the
better we can help you make it for you.
I have in fact been thinking about blogging my journey with CouchDB - I'll try and turn that into reality soon, and will post the link when it's up.

I've made one or
two tentative changes to the Erlang code locally - if I find myself becoming
more proficient/confident at it - or discover anything other way I might be
useful in helping CouchDB become more Windows-friendly, I'll certainly jump
in to help.

That'd be awesome.
