Personally I would love to do it with elixir.
It would be easier, faster to implement and it would have less number of
bugs (since it is possible to do some checks at compile time).
But it would be a dumb move if there is no 100% buy in from all active
contributors and stake holders.

​Sure. But I think it doesn't really matter what to learn: a new popular
language or a new specific framework.​ Both solutions will force to learn
something new, but elixir has much more bigger potential here.
