Hi Andrew,
> So "Where is Base?", What does that mean exactly.
Just a short reply (ehm, let's see if I manage the "short" part). Even
if this wasn't directed to us developers - I'm speaking as project lead
now :)
Some parts of the problem you (rightfully) pointed out are under our
("the Base core developers" as well as "the Base lead/co-lead", which is
nearly the same set of people) control, some aren't.
For instance, the fact that we weren't present at the OOoCon is our very
own guiltiness, for various reasons.
The fact that Base is somewhat under-presented in the marketing, on the
other hand, is something we can't really influence - well, except with
coding some cool features :)
Overall, I take this as a valid reminder that we need to care for our
visibility in various areas, by either doing ourself, or evangelizing
people to (evangelize people to) do themselves.
Ciao
Frank
PS: You all read GullFOSS, don't you? Well, at least there, in the
weekly "Development at a Glance" postings, you'll find something about
Base. I'd bet this week might be interesting for some of you :)
