ab sofort werden bis auf weiteres zu Testzwecken zusätzlich inoffizielle
Patches für bestimmte, RPM basierte Linux Versionen von OpenOffice.org zur
Verfügung gestellt.
Die Ersparnis beim Download-Volumen bzw. der Download-Zeit beträgt je nach
Version ca. 60-95% gegenüber der Vollversion.

Ich würde mich freuen, wenn Ihr Euch am Test des Verfahrens beteiligen
könntet, sofern Ihr die RPM basierte Linux-Version verwendet.
Rückmeldungen bitte hier in diesem Thread posten.
Kurze Erläuterung zur Technik:
Aus dem tarball der Vorgängerversion (das man bereits haben muß) und dem
jeweiligen Patch wird der Original Installationssatz der neuen Version
generiert. Dieser kann dann ganz normal verwendet werden, als ob man die
Vollversion selbst heruntergeladen hätte.

starting immediately and until further notice, additionally unofficial
patches for selected RPM based Linux versions of OpenOffice.org will be
provided for testing purposes.
The savings in terms of download size and download duration compared to
the full version are about 60-95%.

provided you use the RPM based Linux version.

Short summary of how it works:
Using the tarball of the previous version (which you already must have
available) and the patch, the original installation set of the new version
will be generated. This can be used as usual, i.e. as if one had
downloaded the full version.
