Stefan Seelmann commented on DIRSTUDIO-65:
------------------------------------------
Yes, you are right. The dropdown list provides the history of recently used
returning attributes (BTW: also the drop down lists of "Search Base" and
"Filter" have such a history). The list with proposals appears when you start
typing or if you hit Ctrl-Space (that is the default content assist activation
of Eclipse/RCP).
So, how to improve it? I think if you know how it works it is useful yet.
Either select a set of returning attributes from the history or type in a new
set of returning attributes where you get content assist. Maybe we should
improve the user doco in order to explain this concept? The wizard is described
here:
http://directory.apache.org/ldapstudio/static/users_guide/ldap_browser/tools_ldifexport_wizard.html
and
http://directory.apache.org/ldapstudio/static/users_guide/ldap_browser/tools_search_dialog.html
> Data export "Returning Attributes" drop down field assist should work without
> typing any letter

> Priority: Trivial

> In the Data Export wizard it is only possible to choose returning attributes
> after at least one letter has been entered. The drop down remains empty if no
> letter has been typed in. I know that field assist in RCP needs a lot of
> improvement but maybe there is a way to fix it.
