Bob,
don't worry, I perfectly understand your feeling. I myself spit my load of
disapointement on many open source projects - mostly because I was expecting
them to be better than most of the close source projects. This is a human
reaction...
We don't have Windows machine to test Studio, and we depend on users for that.
this is also one of the reason we are slow in delivering GA, and go through
milestones. Also it's a giant project now - I should say 4 different projects,
with ApacheDS, Studio, the LDAP API and the backend -, with around 1M lines of
code. We are obviously not enough to get everything done, not to mention the
documentation...
One last thing : it's extremely difficult to test Studio, we don't have a rich
tooling to test GUIs, on 3 different platforms (Linux, Mac OSX and Windows). No
wonder if we sometime miss something...
