I already think to that. But from the OpenOffice point of view, it
shouldn't provide many advantages, since Simba is a mirroring tool.
Simba integrated with metalink, should be usefull only if the
institutions who do mirroring for OpenOffice are using Simba, and you
want to give them control over the generated metalink files. This
approach has a lot of duplicated data, and to keep the mirrors list in
sync with all institutions is kind of difficult (IMHO).
I think this leaves place for further discussions.

Is mike subscribe to the list ?
I think that OpenOffice will definitely be the best project to support
metalink, since you can give users only one file instead of 4-6 url's
(like now). After all, metalink is, from the users point of view, all
about simplicity and elegance.

I don't know for sure, but is better to have him in Cc until we know
for sure that he is subscribed to the list.
