LetÅ› get a little history.

History is written by the winners. What level of objectivity you are considered to have when writting as the co-lead of the documentation ?

Besides, who cares about the past when the project welcomes new comers every second from all around the world ?

Daniel found working with the documentation
project too difficult so he proposed an off-site way, oooauthors, that
would make production of documentation easier and that this project
would feed the main documentation project. He also promised that this
would result in a user guide. Well we actually got a user guide but only
after the doc project published one. So much for that.

So what ? What point are you trying to make ? That oooauthors was ... late ?

THere was also a promise of a printed guide. Again this has not occurred via oooauthors; however, the documentation project has this in place and
further proceeds from the sale of this guide go directly to
OpenOffice.org.

Very good. So what ? And how many books sales proceeds do not go to OOo ?
Are you just trying to show off ? What is your point here ?

SO if you want to complain about progress or lack thereof at the doc
project or any of the NL projects, get involved with OpenOffice.org and
not a third party project that seems bent on undermining on-going
efforts.

I don't know who's undermining what. Wasting time on bickering is not generally considered productive. And for some reason it seems bickering on "fork" issues seems to be a OOo lead hobby.

If your way of considering participation is "you're with us or shut up" I fear you won't attract a lot of people.

The mail that started it all today was not productive. If that's the real OOo way then no wonder you're getting forked.
