Just out of curiosity I walked through the steps to
create a Base DB with dBASE files as the data souce. 
My steps are attached.  Would this be useful to the
documentation project or has this been covered?  If
useful, can I put it somewhere?

1- Create a directory.  

2- Create a new Base DB.
   File > New > Database
   
   Select database = Connect to an existing database. 
   Select dBASE from the drop down list.
   Click Next
  
   Path to the dBASE files = <path to directory created>
   Click Next

   Yes or No to register the database with OOo
   Click Finish

   Select a file name and location for the odb file.
   Note this file can be saved in the directory created.

3- Each table created in this data base will be a dbf file 
   in the source directory.
   Any dbf file added to the source directory will will 
   appear in the table container area of the database.
