I must be missing something here! The licence I intend to use -

permits derivative works. That doesn't sound non-editable to me.

What Louis means is that OOo will only accept a CC document if you give it in a format that can't be edited :P

Daniel.
This sounds like a way forward, but what about the fact that I've included some sample label templates (.ott) within the zip file? They can't sensibly be converted to PDF as they would then be unusable.

Would Scott care to advise on this?

Could the Templates be available from the Templates section under PDL license? If you want I can place the PDL on the templates and have them for download in the Templates section, or you can state in your PDF where to download from your site. It would also allow for more traffic to your server, etc.

We can work out the details of the templates to best suite your needs.

Scott,

thanks for the reply. I'm afraid that we seem to be going in circles again:-) I don't have any needs - at least not in this context - I'm simply trying to support those people who have difficulty with label creation (and anything else that takes my eye in the future). As such, the templates to which I allude are useful to me in my environment, but in the context of my tutorial they are intended simply as examples of the technique that is expounded in the main document.

If you think that multi-page templates for Avery J(and L)8163 and 8560 labels on an A4 page size have a general use then I would be happy for you to put them in the Templates section, but I suspect that that particular field is already well addressed; at least for single sheets.

In summary, I'm coming to the conclusion that a pointer to my web site is the best option: if the tutorial proves to be more popular than I anticipate, and my bandwidth suffers, I'll think again.

Whilst I've been writing this I've also been proof-checking the tutorial and I've noticed that a few screen shots have references to OOo-dev - I started this during beta testing - so I'll have to fix that before I proceed.

Regards

Peter HB
