My name is Joseph Thomas. I go by Joe, but I'm Joseph in Latin America: Yo (I) in Spanish is pronounced Joe; you can understand the problem. I am a retired federal employee now living in Costa Rica, and I will assist you any way I can in making Open Office the best and most popular program of its kind. Just tell me how I can help.
I have an MBA with a specialty in operations analysis and management. It has been about 25 years since I studied computer information systems and related courses. I was trained in basic, Fortran, Pascal, and Cobal. Fortunately, I can still remember what happened yesterday and those languages are buried in the past. Maybe in a few more years... Most of my work experience has been in marketing and management. I was a technical sales representative for many years. I was marketing manager for a materials handling company. I set up the computer audit system for the State of Arizona, and for 14 years I managed groups of pension and exempt organization auditors in five western states for IRS. No great recommendation, but it sure gave me a lot of practice with word processors, spreadsheets and databases. For several years I was assigned to the computer design project team of IRS. I want to help, but I have to admit that the acronyms and esoteric vocabulary may take some time to learn. You let me know what I can do and we'll give it our best. "G.
