I don't believe in the "wisdom of the masses", or at least I believe
to the same degree in the "stupidity of the masses". So even wikipedia
has an editorial framework set up to ensure validity and accuracy of
the information posted. In the way the community, that's ALL OF US ;-)
increasingly contributes, a good editorial process becomes increasingly
important.

So essentially you agree that using the wiki is the way to go. Good.

Yep, I do (and the Sun part in me does, too :-)

We already see this now where the lack of such process leads to
outdated FAQs, for example. It's dangerous because we may lose
the credibility of the user base. And a user that turns away from
docs in frustration may never come back, as user or contributor.

The FAQ issue is not typical in that it involves three separate groups.
Integrating them on the wiki has been Scott's and my goal for some time.
In fact we thought we had volunteers to complete the process but I guess
it is too tedious and we have not completed this migration.

Yes, I know, it's a special situation. And finally, at least,
you found two volunteers that keep working on it...

So don't worry taking work away from us, there's still
a lot to do ;-)

I am certain StarOffice and Solaris will keep you more than busy ;-)

Lets hope for that, and lets hope that OpenOffice.org will keep
us busy, too. ThatÄs what they call win-win :-)
