I hereby declare the 2nd edition of Getting Started with OOo3 published. The individual chapter files, in ODT and PDF, are on the OOoAuthors site, and the PDFs are on the wiki. Later I'll put the ODTs on the wiki too.

For ease of download by people who want all the files, I have also made zip files of all the ODTs and all the PDFs; they are on the OOoAuthors site & will later go on the wiki.

I have not yet put the full, compiled book (in either ODT or PDF) on either of the websites, but that will come soon, when the printed copy has been published. (I don't want to give the other person selling our books on Amazon a head start by handing them the PDF to work with.) If you desperately need a copy now, let me know and I'll tell you where you can get it. Or I suppose I could put it on the OOoAuthors website but visible only to people with Author privileges.

Or you can build the full book yourself from the master doc -- just be warned that some things don't behave themselves, in particular some of the cross-references (which are ok in the chapter files) go wrong when those are subdocuments of a master doc. I suspect the problem lies in the convoluted history of some of the files, which began in OOo1.x -- but that's another story. I tidy these up after I export the master doc to ODT; it's tedious and I always miss some... and I'm not convinced they stay fixed after I close the file and reopen it.

Lastly, apologies to the translators. I have not provided files with tracked changes, as I said I would. Many of these files have been through so many reviews and revisions since V3.0 that the change tracking became too difficult to work with, so I kept accepting all the changes each time and working from there. If someone would like to run Compare Documents on each chapter and put the result into another folder under Getting Started 3, that would consolidate all the changes into one set. I'd do it, but I really want to get working on the other books.
