+Starting from Drill 1.17, you can store table metadata (including schema and
computed statistics) into Drill Metastore.
+This metadata will be used when querying a table for more optimal plan
creation.

Regarding all these ambiguities, currently, the behavior is the same as
during regular select. Added a sentence to reflect this. Regarding tuning the
schema, there is [DRILL-7477](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-7477)
Jira which will allow using the power of schema provisioning feature during
collecting metadata.
