[~ajayyadava]: It will be difficult to cut any branch later as to back port
specific patches/commits/fixes to a branch. If there is a branch, each patch
contributor can work on themselves to send pull request to multiple branches
along with required changes for the respective branch so that any time the
interim branch can be released without any hassles.
