I'm resuming my work on this Jira, by preparing a new patch including
Srikanth's comment.
Regarding the log4j 2 question, I think it's more "secure" to first switch to
slf4j with log4j 1.x as backend, next upgrade to slf4j with log4j 2.x (or
logback), and finally see if it makes sense to stay with slf4j as a façade.
