yep, the issue of what dependencies to put in the NOTICE has been causing a lot of discussion on the maven and legal mailing lists - ie. should runtime dependencies that aren't packaged inside the final binary/source be listed in the NOTICE... perhaps it is safest to be explicit and list it?
