How about supporting also generic bootstrappers like Pax Runner that support
all major frameworks and its versions ?
Then also you don't have to bundle the framework into the distribution but
paxrunner which is capable of downloading the correct artifacts from
different resources.

+1 for a Karaf kind of project !
