No, I don't think so. The current OBR has semantically a lot in common with the
OSGi Repository API. The APIs are just different. So I think it makes more
sense to add the spec-compliant APIs to the existing OBR, which effectively
gives it two ways of interacting with it: the OBR-proprietary way and the OSGi
spec-compliant way.
But regardless of how you access it, the content is only stored once.
