Hi, I am running Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS. The application version is Mifos® X WebApp 260217 with Apache Fineract 1.14.
I would like to know whether there is a way to onboard customers as part of the eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process using a self-service method, allowing them to upload the required KYC documents. Are there any out-of-the-box features available for this, or would custom development be required? Definition of eKYC eKYC (electronic Know Your Customer) is a digital process used by businesses to verify customer identities online. It replaces traditional paper-based KYC processes, enabling faster and more efficient verification. Typical eKYC Workflow: 1. Initial Identity Verification: Customers provide personal information (e.g., name, date of birth). 2. Document Submission: Users upload electronic copies of identity documents (e.g., passport, driver’s license). 3. Biometric Verification: Facial recognition or fingerprint verification is performed. 4. Consent and Confirmation: Customers provide consent and confirm the accuracy of submitted information. 5. Finalization and Approval: The system generates an eKYC record for review and approval. Benefits of eKYC: • Faster verification process • Improved customer convenience • Reduced identity fraud through biometrics • Lower operational costs • Enhanced regulatory compliance eKYC is widely used in banking, telecommunications, healthcare, and other regulated industries. Kindly advise whether Apache Fineract provides any native/self-service capabilities for this, or if a separate UI layer and custom integration would be required. Best regards, Kaushal
