There's no reason both map/filter and addCallbacks/removeCallbacks can't exist at the same time. I think the best plan is to put back the map/filter code and do a release with both. Then remove map/filter in the release after that (assuming that's enough time for users to update their code). 2. I added deprecation flags to the map/filter functions in the README.
