I am posting this to the dev list because I'm looking for feedback specifically
from the Apache Flex team.

For a while now I have been thinking that what Apache Flex needs is another site
very similar to what Peter deHaan did with http://blog.flexexamples.com. I
really miss his work, it was a great way to tell potential clients and
colleagues migrating to Flex from say Java, how easy it is to code in Flex. Now
I know that Tour de Flex fulfills part of that job (or would, if it were updated
to Apache Flex), but launching an app is not the same.

So, to that end, last year I purchased the domain apacheflexexamples.com. The
purpose of this site initially would be to showcase all the new components and
their features that Apache Flex has added since Flex was donated to Apache in
after 4.6. This will create increased visibility for Flex in the developer
community and help increase adoption, and provide a place where intermediate
Flex users can get an idea how to use a particular feature, and for beginners
can get a handle on how to use Flex -- just like blog.flexexamples.com used to
be.

Now that my current client project is in a lull between revisions, I'll have
some time to work on it. End of January is what I figure for an ETA with enough
initial content to go live. When it's live, my commitment is to contribute at
least five Apache Flex examples per week, though initially it will probably be
double that for the first few months just to cover some ground.

My question is, what is the protocol from the Apache side of things? Do you need
to review the beta site by committee before it goes live? Do I need any special
dispensation from Apache to use the word "apache" in the URL? Any other feedback
from the Apache Flex team would be welcome.

Thanks!
