Ok ... so it's done :-)

The modules content is now the new root and the stuff outside is removed (All 
except the Ant build) ... so I guess it would be a good idea to get the Ant 
build working again as soon as you find the time. I ran the full build 
including tests and all worked nicely.

Prior to this I updarted develop with the 4.7.x branch and updated master with 
the 4.7.2 state.

So anyone else following this ... in order to build develop now all you should 
need is: "mvn install"

If cleaning up means what you said in the first paragraph, I think you can
get going on it.
