+1 (non-binding) I verified the following:
- Independently checked the source release signature and checksum, and confirmed that the source files match tag v5.1.0-rc1. - Checked signatures and checksums of the staged connector and SQL connector JARs and their POMs for both the 2.2 and 2.3 variants. Checked that the staged JAR bytecode targets Java 11 or earlier. - Built all modules with JDK 11 using -Pjava11-target. Checkstyle, Spotless and RAT passed. Ran 159 unit tests successfully. - Ran DataStream and SQL smoke tests against Kafka 4.2.0, using the staged artifacts with Flink 2.2.1/JDK 11 and Flink 2.3.0/JDK 17. Verified exactly-once DataStream writes, bounded reads and SQL header-list metadata, including duplicate header keys and null values. - Tested the staged SQL connector JARs with none, gzip, snappy, lz4 and zstd compression. All round trips returned the expected records without duplicates. - Tested canonical savepoint upgrades from the official 5.0.0-2.2 connector to RC1 on Flink 2.2.1, for both KafkaSource and DynamicKafkaSource.
