Yep, sure. Please feel free to reassign to yourself. The issue with arrays (or
array deques for that matter) is that allocating a large channel would require
contiguous memory for as many references as the size of the channel itself.
Considering that this allocation will happen immediately after the channel is
started should make it more reasonable, I suppose.
