Thanks for the nice mail, and also agree that we need a fresh and nice design.
IMHO the best way to help with this is to make a sample site with a new skin and donate it to Forrest, so that it can be used as a concrete base to work upon. The ideal would be a skin without any class attribute for normal tags, and all based on CSS.
