Ross Gardler commented on FOR-1034:
-----------------------------------
This is great. I really like the way you are pulling remote glossary content
from the W3C site - a superb demonstration of (some of) what Forrest is about -
pulling content from multiple sources.
However, I do have a concerna about this. What is the licence status of this
remote data? Since it is W3C data I imagine we can reuse it, and since it is
not going into our SVN things are simplified. However, surely we need to credit
the W3C copyright materials. Especially since the page copyright notice says
"Copyright © 2004-2007 The Apache Software Foundation."
Looking at the RDF sources you are using there does not appear to be any
copyright notices within, so I'm not sure what the copyiright status for this
material is. Do you know? If not we need to discuss this, first on the Forrest
dev list (who will see this message), then, if we still don't know the answer
we can go to the Apache legal-discuss list.
I've applied these patches on my local machine but have not committed them
since we need to consider the above legal issue (which I do not see as a
blocker, we just need to understand the implications of this).
(there are other problems here, but I'll put them in subsequent comments to
keep the mailing list messages on topic)
