:: Project name ::

OpenOffice.org Framework: Tabbed document windows

:: Based on ::

http://development.openoffice.org/summerprojects.html
/ Application Framework (framework) section

:: Short description :: (cited from the above URL)

"The Mozilla based browser created a big interest for
organizing document windows in Tabs. A similar UI in
OpenOffice.org could attract users that like to group
their documents together in one common window instead
of accessing them all through the system taskbar.
It needs some changes in the application framework
core module but also comprises some new components, so
this project should be developed together with the
OpenOffice.org developers of the framework module. "

:: Motivation and benefit to the open source community
::

I think OpenOffice is the only chance for low-cost /
cost free office space document. It still has many
problems in implementation, I would be glad to help to
make it better.

:: Implementation details and scheduling::

I am not familiar with openoffice programming. For
this reason I will need about 4 weeks to get familiar
with the OpenOffice source code / GUI implementation
issues and for making a design for the code.
I will need 1 week in the end to write the
documentation and remaining source code comments.
The remaining time will be used for writing the code.

:: Professional and educational background ::

I am currently part of the Masters Program /
Intelligent Systems Section at the Babes-Bolyai
University of Cluj Napoca, Mathematics and Computer
Sciences Faculty.

I have graduated the Technical University of Cluj
Napoca, Automation and Computer Sciences Faculty.
I have BS Degree in Computer Sciences.

I have 4 years professional experience in writing c++
code, mainly for windows. I have 2 years experience in
C# and Visual Basic.NET.

I have a long list of completed projects behind me, I
have worked with many tools and technologies,
including:
- internet related protocols: sockets, http,
pop3/smtp, imap
- snmp - server and client
- com / dcom
- stl
- atl, wtl
- mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg4 (low level processing, filters),
and video streaming related technologies: rtsp, sap,
...
- complex gui work with mfc/atl/wtl: custom drawn tree
controls, grid controls, alpha blending for
transparent images
- USB related: low level usb programming.
- windows services in c++, c#
- serial/paralel port related

multilanguage dictionaries out of huge amounts of
technical documentation.
