this link is deprecated and most of the information is outdated.
I think the only useful information is the section on debugging
with NetBeans.

In principal you can deploy Java scripts in user, share and
documents. By using uno packages you can deploy Java scripts only
in user and share. Nevertheless it's possible to deploy Java
scripts in documents. For some more details please have a look
at the developers guide, section 18.3.5 Compiling and Deploying
Java macros.

Yes, I know this section and got java examples working, but I asked for a *convenient* way...

The whole deployment is quite some manual work. One and a half year
ago I worked on a prototype which allows to deploy Java scripts
automatically from NetBeans into a document. I left that project
more than one year ago and AFAIK nobody continued to work on this
project.

Perhaps the Eclipse guys are crazy about doing something in this direction (Cedric)? ;)

If the uno-awt gets extended more and more, it would be an easy way to deploy templates with dialogs, where StarBasic doesn't fit the needs of the developer. So they can use the other languages and must not take care about installing packages on the client side.

If this should discussed more, the extensions list would be the appropriate one to go on, that's why cc.

Regards

Peter
