Do you, or anyone else, know if the same applies for key board
presets/customisation?
We hope to fix that for keyboard configuration in 3.0, work is in progress.
Will be hard to test with the 3.0 beta, I think.
Since the effect is there if one has an own shortcut added and a newer
version offers a new default short-cut.
In 3.0 we plan to ignore existing shortcut configurations or implement a
one-time merging step (not sure at the moment if that will work fine).
Is fine if shotcuts can be used from the 2.0-installation (not the
settings from 1.1.5 BTW, which still is offered in 3.0-beta :-( ) but
since it's only a one-time issue, it's no drama if it cannot be made.
After the migration to 3.0 the problem should be gone. Of course then we
will get a new one: if the "central" configuration is changed it is
possible that the same shortcut is assigned to two different commands.
But I don't see any way to avoid that without staying with the current
unfortunate solution.
I was thinking about this situation again. Especially with
menu-configuration in mind (less with toolbars, menu's and colors etc.)
It does happen regularly that the new OOo holds a new menu-entry.
If someone has an own menu-bar configuration, the new entries won't be
picked up. Therefore I think, it might better if the customizations are
ignored. After all, it might be easier for most users to add their
customizations once again, than merging two xml-files (ang getting hold
of them first).
Something for the UX to discuss?
If decided to do so, this might be some info for the read-me?
And maybe there's a change to extract information about what the user
made for customizations, and present it in one way or another, in order
to make it easier to add them again?
Regards,
Cor
