It's a big change so I don't think it's unexpected that the impact will be significant. I think the assertion is (and I understood it is usual) that it's a required condition for exiting incubation - so I'm asking the question early. When is it best for that event to happen? My suggestion is sooner rather than later - because the longer this code is out there, the more chance of early adopters, the more chance of other projects starting integration.
